You have to match the tone of the guitar to a tone that comes from your phone’s speaker. There are free tuners that provide visual confirmation that the string is tuned. This is the first tuner that I have had to pay for - I do not recommend this application.

This app is awesome! If I need to tune my guitar really quick, I just open the app and tune!! It’s really fast to do, also!

I’m enjoying the user friendly mode on this tuner. It is usually right on the money with tuning; I have other tuning apps and tuners that aren’t always as reliable. Ease is what I need!! This covers all angles very adequately !

This is not a very good tool for tuning. You can’t even tell if it’s tuned or not. I’m actually looking for a new tuning app now.

Tuner means something that tell if the note you are playing is in tune. This App doesnt do that. It simply plays a note. For tuning purpose it is garbage!!

I use it to tune 12-String down 1/2 step. Works great and saves a lot of time!!!!!

Works very well for my needs. Helps me tune my ears up. Sometimes I can tune all 12 strings on my own . Great app.

Unbelievable. It doesn't "hear" the note you play, it only plays a synth note you want to tune to.

Does not have a pickup to direct your tuning. Waste of money

This is a glorified tuning fork. If you want to tune by ear, this is your app. It emits the desired tone of tuning and its up to you to match the tone on the desired string. I recommend GuitarTuna; it's expensive but a great app.

This does exactly what I wanted. It makes it really easy to tune a 12 string guitar. Most of the other tuners give you the note but I was unsure which octave to use for each pair of strings. The other style tuner works great for my six string.

Not a automatic tuner, ya know a lot of people who have to have automatic or electric tuners instead of leaning it by ear yes you will be a little disappointed. But if you can match the tone of a electronic string to the one on an actual guitar and they sound the same then you will like the app. It does not have the arrow/needle/ dot/ what ever else there is tuning your guitar. It has the string names, and sounds you tune it by that sound if you can not do that, it's something you need to learn down the road as a guitar player maybe not now but it needs to be learned.

This app is a total rip off it is not a tuner it just plays the notes it should be removed from the app store

This app is not a tuner. Just plays the notes. Not worth $1. I learned my lesson. Read the reviews before buying!

All it does is play the strings, one at a time.

This is not a tuner. It simple gives the tones of the 12 strings and even then, the top e string is an octave lower than it should be. I was robbed.

I thought this was a tuner but it's a dumb app with sound there are freebie version I wasted my money for nothing. Come on use the mic that was added this is irresponsible of you. Realize someone like me can't tune by hearing but feeling the vibration but for me to do it takes time I need to tune quickly. In'till then no five stars in'till you get this right.

I'm really disappointed with this app... I thought it was a tuner but it's nothing more than a pitch pipe... Take advantage of the mic and I will give it a 5 star rating till then it's a 1 from me

For what this app does, it's actually pretty decent. I was hoping for a tuner that actually listens to the strings and tells you flat or sharp, but instead it actually plays the notes and you tune your strings to the notes. But it works surprisingly well. I have a super-sensitive acoustic 12-string (pain to keep In tune, even with my perfect pitch) that I actually tune to standard tuning, and this app helped me get the tuning down perfectly in under a minute. This app is very bare-bones. No config, no nothing. Just tap the string you want to tune, and you'll hear a sampled guitar string tuned to the proper note. I had no trouble running this on my 16-gig iPhone 4 w/iOS 6. Don't know why others had trouble. Perhaps you need to try double-clicking your home key and shutting down those other apps running in the background?

Worst tuner app I have ever used!

Very nice and handy. One thing is missing that some 12-string players really need, and that is a handy way to "tune down" the strings as many 12-strings can't be tuned as tight as regular six strings. I'd like to tune it the bottom string to a D, for example, instead of an E.

Very easy to use, tuned my guitar perfectly in about a minute.
